About Casa Balbi

This beautiful property is set on 10 acres (4 hectares) in the mountains of Monteverde. It started as a dairy farm in the 70's which then evolved into a getaway for naturalists, birders and travelers from all over the world. We continued to build Casa Balbi in 2010, casitas & studios built in a unique setting offering rustic-elegant vacation homes. The casitas and studios (4 in total) have been very well received by international travelers and nature lovers from all over the world. Casa Balbi has grown into a perfect place for explorers to use as a hub while visiting the biological reserves in the area.

In 2023 we began the creation of our new tropical gardens & rancho. It offers pathways through a variety of plants, a very peaceful setting to take in our resident hummingbirds or relax in the hammocks.
